Wondering what’s next after No Kings 3? Beginning on Saturday, April 11, NKI is hosting a series of monthly Community Conversations for Democracy.  Our purpose is to bring together people of diverse backgrounds and opinions to explore issues central to our democracy. The topic for the first session is Immigration. Please join us and bring your friends and family members whose opinions may differ from yours. All points of view and levels of activism or inactivism are welcome. RSVP here

ICE agents ignore safety and privacy practices for detainee patients,Tacoma nurses say. The nurses allege that these agents have repeatedly ignored practices safeguarding patients’ privacy, health, and safety, including by refusing to leave detainees’ rooms during catheter changes, shackling a detainee so tightly to a bed they caused nerve damage to the person’s hand, and refusing to wear required masks and gowns in rooms where patients had communicable diseases.

From a frozen Alaskan village above the Arctic Circle to the steps of Minnesota’s State Capitol, where Bruce Springsteen performed for 200,000 people, the third wave of the No Kings movement has redrawn the geography of American dissent and confronted Donald Trump with something no poll, no court, and no executive order can easily dissolve: a republic that remembers what it is.

Supreme Court appears deeply skeptical of Trump’s bid to eliminate birthright citizenship. A majority of Supreme Court justices appeared deeply skeptical of President Donald Trump’s bid to unilaterally eliminate birthright citizenship as part of his attack on immigration in all forms.


Gov. Bob Ferguson signed into law the state’s new income tax on million-dollar earners. Ferguson says “millionaires’ tax” will provide needed relief for small businesses and lower-income residents.



Washington adds safeguards for Flock cameras. Ferguson on Monday also signed into law the state’s first guardrails for the use of automated license plate readers, after concerns that federal immigration authorities were using the data as part of their enforcement efforts. 



New law Passes to protect workers from immigration raids. House Bill 2105 requires employers to let their employees know of a planned inspection of employment eligibility paperwork within 72 hours of being notified about it by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or another federal
