No Kings 3 – Effective Protesting

1. Attend at least one No Kings 3 events on Saturday, March 28th.

See below for a list of events in North Kitsap. The events are staggered in time so you will be able to attend more than one.

2. The best signs tell people what we stand for and do it simply.

Remember that the people we need to reach the most have not been following the news. Stick to things they can understand without prior knowledge. Avoid political jargon, academic terms and acronyms. The best signs tell people what we stand for and do it simply. Looking for inspiration? Here is a list.

3. Projecting safety and goodwill works to our advantage.

Confrontation benefits Trump. He has been looking for an excuse to declare Martial Law since he took office. Don’t give him one. We need to make it clear that Trump is creating the chaos. “Our strategic goal should be to look so completely peaceful and harmless that calling out the National Guard looks like the wildest kind of overreach, like calling them out to attack a family picnic. The fact of our protests being peaceful should be unassailable.” Antonia Scatton, Oct 08, 2025

4. Click here to discover trainings for protesters, safety tips, and protest dos and don’ts, as well as links to upcoming campaigns.

As always, there’s a map of protests drawn from over 30 sources. Also, stop by the link for your state at the bottom. Several cities are hosting poster parties and solidarity events this week.

Why We Resist

Democracy Is Eroding Faster Than Experts Predicted. “Fascism is not an ideology, it’s simply a process for taking and holding power. One of the classic traits of a fascist movement is absolute loyalty to the leader… the perfect storm that’s currently tearing our nation apart.” The song that was inspired by this article is here.

Trump’s  war of choice is driven by a president in obvious decline Much of what you hear  from Trump is sanitized by news organizations, missing the  broader, often more bizarre context. So allow me to highlight the signs of an apparent cognitive decline you’re often not seeing or reading about.

Wars

“Post-NATO Care” Edition from Counterpoint.  After spending days urgently asking allies—and, at one point, even China—for help cleaning up the global oil crisis caused by his own war, President Trump has now reached the next logical stage of diplomacy: declaring he never wanted their help anyway.

Washington gas prices rose this week. Here’s why- It’s the WAR. Gas prices are jumping around because traders are trying to price in how long the Iran war will disrupt oil flows from the Middle East, on top of the usual spring run‑up in demand as driving season approaches.

ICE

ICE to Aid Airport Security Amid Partial Shutdown, Border Czar Says

Tom Homan, President Trump’s chief border official, cast the operation largely as one to help ease long security lines. The Homeland Security Department said 14 airports across the country would be involved.

What Resistance Looks Like

Switzerland Blocks Arms Sales to U.S. Over Iran War. Swiss law prohibits selling war materiel to countries involved in armed conflict, a policy the country has already cited to block sales to Israel and Iran

‘Montana Plan’ to prohibit corporate spending in politics green lit for signature gathering. A plan to prohibit corporations from spending money on political candidates or ballot issues, is moving forward with the signature-gathering process in Montana. If  passed, it could prove a death knell to Citizens United.

Governor and Attorney General launch portal for reporting ICE misconduct in Massachusetts. “This new reporting portal will help us gather information, support residents and ensure federal agents operating in our state are following the law,” Healey said in a statement. “The people of Massachusetts deserve to know that their rights will be respected, their safety protected and their concerns about misconduct taken seriously.”

Posters went up across Washington D.C. calling out Trump’s  reckless Iran war as “Operation Epstein Fury.   Watch the video!

Stickers showing Trump’s face and the phrase “I-Ran your gas price up” are appearing at gas stations nationwide.

Top Architecture Firm Won’t Design More ICE Prisons After Employees Revolt

They thought their firm focused on humane design. Then they learned of the private detention center contract.

Some Good News

Over 3000 No Kings events planned—way more than last time!

New DOJ blunder: Washington State Voter roll case in chaos after missed deadline, false claims allegation. “[T]he Trump DOJ was taking three conflicting positions at once: telling the court it had already served Hobbs, telling the state it still needed to serve him and disregarding the fact that service had already been waived. The court was not amused.”

Face mask ban for police in Washington is signed into law

It’s a response to masked federal agents detaining people as part of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.
