Meet at Poulsbo Water Front Park Gazebo

We are rallying in Poulsbo this Sunday and hope you can joinus!  Forecast is 76 degrees, sunny and warm – hydrate. Note: Sunday is the 5th anniversary of the killing of George Floyd – and there have been rumorsabout Trmp pardoning Derek Chauvin. Even if Chauvin was absolved of federalcharges he would still have to serve his time for his state conviction. We’re also nearing the 6 year anniversary (July 3rd) of the police killing ofStonechild Chiefstick and the city is still reeling from the lethal shooting ofJustin Moegling by Poulsbo and Kitsap County Sheriff officers. We will have apeaceful, but passionate, event as usual and your presence helps that happen.

Whiter Shade of Refugee Edition
America’s golden doors have swung open — but only for the melanin-deficient. The Trump administration, which has largely slammed the gates shut on war-torn refugees from Afghanistan, Syria, or anywhere Trump has designated a “shithole country,” has made a heartwarming exception: white South African farmers fleeing the unspeakable hardship of… potential land redistribution.

Original play by Crystal Zevon: One Family in Gaza.

A discussion and Zoom Q&A session with the playwright will follow the performance.
This non-fiction drama is based on the friendship between Zevon and a young father in the Gaza Strip. The story is told through their correspondence since the Fall of 2023, reflecting Zevon’s efforts to help the family, intertwined with short news reports that give context to the messages.  The main focus is the messages received from the young father, while telling a story that in some ways reflects universal truths about living through any war and offers insights into this particular conflict. The piece is a rare telling of a war experienced in real time, calling upon us to never forget our humanity.
The BIMA performance of One Family in Gaza is sponsored by the Kitsap Palestine Solidarity Coalition and is offered free of charge. Donations to feed families in Gaza will be accepted at the venue. Palestinian food and merchandise will be available.
See the website for more information about the play

June 14th at 8:30-9:15am starting at  City Hall – Silent Peace March

Then encouraging everyone to attend Junteenth in Bremerton

June 14th: (Juneteenth in Bremerton), 10:15am-3pm, is an important annual event in Bremerton that we support. Midsommer Fest, Poulsbo’s annual Scandinavian solstice festival, will be using the gazebo in Poulsbo on June 14th from 10am to pm. So, while Trump revels in his megalomaniacal show of military force birthday party in the nation’s capital on June 14, we will join nationwide demonstrations with a NO KINGS! We will have a Silent Peace March, 8:30-9:15am (coinciding in real-time with the extravaganza in D.C.) We will gather at Poulsbo City Hall with signs and march promptly to Front Street for the loop and back IN SILENCE. No speakers, no chants, no music – a truly silent and focused demonstration. We encourage people to bring signs that say either NO KINGS! or PEACE. This gives us time to make our point and move on to continue the day. Bremerton’s Juneteenth organizers are inviting democracy groups throughout Kitsap to rally with them at the Norm Dicks Building in Bremerton at 10:15 and join the Freedom March to Evergreen Rotary Park for the festival

Process the news with Indivisible co-founders Ezra Levin and Leah Greenberg

Every Thursday at 3pm, we take a step back to absorb the news of the past week, draw inspiration from the work Indivisibles and allies are doing all across the country, and talk about how we fight back. The onslaught of news, the chaos coming out of the White House – it’s all meant to overwhelm us. It’s a deliberate strategy to sow confusion and make us believe we are powerless to fight back. The antidote: Coming together in community to process what’s happening, to sift through what’s important and what’s just noise, and coalesce around strategies for fighting back Click here to register

Federal Building Fridays 11:30 AM  1:30 PM

Come for 5 minutes or 2 hours – we’ll be there every week

Where: Henry M. Jackson Federal Building, 915 2nd Ave, Seattle
If the Trump / Musk agenda were happening in any other country no one would hesitate to call it a coup in progress. Naomi Klein has called it a “counter revolution”, though she points out that we never completed the revolution, so we find ourselves defending a future which hasn’t yet manifested itself. We must accept that saving American democracy is up to us – there’s no cavalry coming.

Mission Statement

North Kitsap Indivisible is committed to fight for social justice and to maintain civil liberties. We model inclusion, respect, and fairness in all of our actions. We believe the policies and actions of the modern Republican Party are racist, authoritarian, corrupt and are damaging the environment. Discrimination, hate mongering and corruption have no place in our democratic process. We are eager to join with our members to promote the values of the democratic party.
